The President of the Republic and the Head of Government of Mexico City inaugurated today a Floating Causeway and the Center for Environmental Culture that unifies Los Pinos and the Second Section of the Chapultepec Forest. It involves caring for the environment and archaeology.
According to what was reported by the federal president on his social networks, the inauguration was attended by Alejandra Frausto, Secretary of Culture, and Gabriel Orozco, director of the Bosque de Chapultepec Project.
“The Los Pinos bridge towards the Second Section and the space dedicated to archeology and the environment. Two great and splendid works for the enjoyment, as of today, of all the people”, mentioned López Obrador.
The inauguration of the works was carried out discreetly and without the presence of the media. However, Claudia Sheinbaum, head of government of Mexico City, invited the public to visit the Floating Causeway and the Center for Environmental Culture, works that are part of a comprehensive rehabilitation project of the Chapultepec Forest that also includes reforestation, a new se of the Cineteca Nacional, Cablebús and the opening of Los Pinos to the public.

The new headquarters of the National Cinemathequewhich will be located in the Fourth Section of the Chapultepec Forest, will have eight rooms with 1,800 seats. The work, which is part of the project Chapultepec: Nature and CultureBidding is already underway. It will be built to the design of Mauricio Rocha Architecture Workshop. The eight rooms are planned to be distributed as follows: two rooms with a capacity for 400 people, four rooms with a capacity for 200 and two for 100.
Nearly 17,000 square meters will be occupied for the construction of the new Cineteca. The building will be built on the property occupied by the SEDENA Weapons Assembly Plant.
