Although Google now owns the Fitbit brand, the truth is that we love their products. It seems that at the moment everything continues as before and they have just announced the brand new Fitbit Charge 5, a wearable that incorporates even more sensors and designed for those who like to play sports. The latest iteration of the Fitbit Charge comes with several hardware updates, including an AMOLED color screen with the ability to stay on at all times and an EDA sensor to track user stress levels.
Stress, the next element to watch for Fitbit
The Fitbit Charge 5 is the first Fitbit wearable to come with an EDA sensor designed to monitor the body’s stress levels through the sweat glands. The firm has included the technology in the smart watch Fitbit Sense, but the Charge 5 is available at a more affordable price compared to the cost of the Sense.
With the Charge 5You’ll also have a stress management score in the Fitbit app. If our levels are high, we will be able to access 300 mindfulness and meditation sessions with a Premium subscription. Google has also taken the opportunity to announce a partnership with Calm indicating that Premium users will have access to all meditation content from Calm.
In addition to stress monitoring, the Fitbit Charge 5 can also track atrial fibrillation, heart rate, respiratory rate, skin temperature variation, Sp02 and your sleep. The Premium subscription will allow us to monitor these elements and identify long-term trends and personal ranges, as well as obtain advice on how to improve the quality of your sleep.
