Ready to return to Panem? The prequel to The Hunger Games: Ballad of singing birds and snakes hits theaters this fall. And Lionsgate offers us a first look at the new installment of the franchise, and boy did it remind us of the style of the previous four films. When will it premiere? Who will play the young President Snow? Here we tell you!
What will it be about?
It’s harvest morning for the tenth edition of The Hunger Games. Years before becoming the president of Panem, a young Corolianus Snow prepares for a very special occasion: achieving glory as a mentor of the Games. The Snow family is going through a difficult time and his fate depends on the young man outwitting and out-strategizing his companions as the mentor of the tribute awarded to him. But everything seems to be against him when they humiliate him by assigning him to the District 12 tribute, Lucy Gray Baird, to whom he will be hopelessly attached. That’s when Snow sees the opportunity to change his destiny.
Distribution
Without a doubt, any actor looking for their first big break would want to be a part of The Games of Hunger. That is the case of Tom Blyth, who will play President Snow, a character played in the original franchise by Donald Sutherland. Blyth’s career includes series such as Billy the Kid and Age goldenso this film could give her world fame, just as Jennifer Lawrence once did.
For the role of Lucy Gray Baird, the chosen one was Rachel Zegler, the new Hollywood sensation. The protagonist of Love without barriers also has the live action of Snow White among his next projects. Not bad for an actress who has only been in four films.
On the other hand, Hunter Schafer (Euphoria) will play Tigris Snow, cousin and confidant of Corolianus; Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) will be the dean of Casca Highbottom Academy, and Viola Davis will play Volumnia Gaul, the mastermind of the diabolical death match.
Other cast members include Josh Andrés Rivera, Jason Schwartzman, Vaughan Reilly, Dakota Shapiro and Laurel Marsden.

What can we expect from the prequel The Hunger Games?
As with the last three films in the original franchise, Francis Lawrence will direct. An obvious decision considering his knowledge of this world. The film’s script is written by Suzanne Collins, author of the novels; Michael Arndt, who adapted On fire (for many, the best of the saga), and Michael Lesslie (Macbeth, Assassin’s Creed).
Regarding his inspiration for the story of this prequel, Collins commented this for The Hollywood Reporter:
“I thought a lot about the period after the Civil War in the United States and also the post-World War II era in Europe. People trying to rebuild, to live their daily lives in the middle of the rubble. The challenges of food shortages, damaged infrastructure, confusion about how to move forward in peacetime. Relief that the war is over along with bitterness towards the enemy in times of war. The need to blame something or someone.”
When it premieres Ballad of songbirds and snakes?
Who will be a songbird? Who will be a snake? Will it have the same success as its predecessors? The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will arrive in Mexican cinemas on November 16, 2023.

Juan Jose Cruz I am one of those who always defended Robert Pattinson as Batman and can see the same movie in the cinema up to 7 times. My guilty taste? Low-budget horror films.
