The source of energy left as a legacy by Joe Exotic and his bizarre case portrayed in ‘Tiger King’, is still not exhausted and from Peacock they have announced the release date and teaser trailer for ‘Joe vs. Carole’the miniseries that adapts the rugged rivalry between the king of the big cats and Carole Baskin.
With John Cameron Mitchell and the incredible Kate McKinnon in the lead roles, the miniseries will premiere in its entirety on the NBCUniversal platform on March 3rd. As with everything from Peacock, we don’t know when it will arrive in Spain (through SkyShowtime?).
John Cameron Mitchell vs. Kate McKinnon
‘Joe vs. Carole’ follows the story of Carol, a big cat enthusiast who discovers that a colleague, Joe Exotic, is breeding and using his felines for profit and is trying hard to shut down his business, inciting a rivalry that will escalate too much. Aware that she also has a lot to keep quiet about, Joe won’t stop until the world knows who her rival really is.
In the words of Etan Frankel, the creator of ‘Joe vs. Carole’:
“‘Joe vs Carole’ is a wild ride. It’s a fun and rich odyssey into the history of people living extreme lives. When I took on the project a year and a half ago, I found Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin to be highly fascinating and this crazy story about two big cat lovers became an important story for me to tell. I hope that when people see Joe vs. Carole see these people you thought you knew in a new way. We knew we would need two extraordinary actors to portray these exuberant people as the complex, three-dimensional individuals that they are. John Cameron Mitchell is one of the most talented and thoughtful people I have ever worked with. He cares a lot about work and his performance takes your breath away. And Kate McKinnon is to remember. She is capable of killing us with laughter one moment and breaking our hearts the next. It has been absolutely thrilling to see these two exceptional actors transform into these roles.”
The distribution is completed with Kyle MacLachlan, Brian Van Holt, Sam KeeleyNat Wolf, Marlo Kelly, William Fichtner, Dean Winters, David Wenham.
