The new sports sedan from the German manufacturer is in the final stretch of testing. This is how we have seen it, and without camouflage, carrying out its last tests in Sweden. And, at the same time, the first official teaser of the new ALPINA B4 Gran Coupé has just been released. A debut expected for this spring, which will crown the sports saloon range.
Hours ago one of the prototypes of the new ALPINA B4 Gran Coupe 2022 has been seen on the snowy roads of northern Sweden. A prototype of the sports saloon that has been seen without camouflage but with the characteristics of the tuning specialist recently absorbed by those of BMW. An intentional nudity and knowing that those responsible for marketing were already advancing the first advances of the sports saloon.
Hence, the prototype lacked a couple of aesthetic and aerodynamic details, which will allow it to distinguish itself from the more powerful 4 Series Gran Coupé and equipped with the “M Sport” package. One of them can be clearly seen in this first teaser, as ALPINA’s have decided to start from the back, showing the left taillight and part of the spoiler that rests on the boot lid. So fine and the color of the bodywork that for many it will go unnoticed, although in some of the spy photos it did stand out.
However, it will not have the duck-tail shape as seemed to be intuited. One of the geniuses of camouflage experts to deceive, but that really did not make much sense in a model of these characteristics. The truth is There will be no major changes in the exterior or interior section, preserving the essence of both and opting only for slight tweaks, such as the special paints for the exterior with the typical blue and green of ALPINA, the alloy wheels, the brake calipers painted in blue or the four rear exhausts.
Inside, the sports model will retain the same structure and design of the dashboard, although the digital instrument panel will present the usual blue backlighting and the most sporty graphics of the preparer. That, together with new decorative moldings and aniline leather upholstery, the illuminated aluminum slats on the door sills, will be the most striking notes.
But what is really interesting is what ALPINA has been preparing for the engine. Taking into account that is based on the M440i, today the top version of the 4 Series Gran Coupé range, which does not have a purely M variant but the preparer must respect a limit. Some technical details that we will know in the world debut expected for this coming spring, and in which it will be confirmed if the powerful engine of six cylinders in line and 3.0 liters biturbo reaches 460 hp maximum power.
