A recent update from Netflix and its team behind the new live-action version of the anime Yuyu Hakusho earlier this week, which is why fans were treated to a special look at the project when Netflix unveiled his Yusuke, and now, we’ve been given our first look at Yoko kurama.
The popular redhead is being played by Jun Shisonand now an image of the Japanese actor in the character has been published and, clearly, looking just as we will see Kurama in this new version, with maroon hair and even his delicate features, Shison is a ringtone of Kurama in this shot, so Netflix should congratulate whoever cast the stars of their Yu Yu Hakusho series.
And for those of you unfamiliar with this actor, you should know that the actor has overseen a ton of projects since he began his acting career, and of course, this includes live-action anime series like Anohana, You’re My Pet, The Way of the Househusband, and more, so Shison has also appeared in several movies since 2012, including Anonymous Noise, Bubble, and more.
So now, Shison is set to bring Kurama to life alongside his co-star. Takumi Kitamura like Yusuke, so as the week progresses, it’s likely that we’ll be shown the rest of the cast in their characters, as it remains to be seen who plays Hiei and Kuwabara.
We share the official synopsis of Yu Yu Hakusho: “Yusuke Urameshi is nothing more than a 14-year-old punk who causes trouble and is always ready to fight! But a single selfless act causes Yusuke to sacrifice his life for someone else. Now, he has been given a second chance at life “Instead of spending time in the afterlife. Put to work as a Spirit Realm Detective with amazing powers, he is tasked with tracking down demons and humans who wish to rule the three realms of reality.”
