Office has changed so radically in recent years that it surprises anyone. Also is true that changes have been progressive rather than radical, but, the inclusion of file cards now shows an advanced preview. This completely changes the concept of icons to offer us much richer content at our fingertips. Just arrived to iOS and we will show you below what it means.
The new file cards are now available on iPad and iPhone
file card function is now available in the Office Mobile app for iOS. This new feature allows users to get a preview of office files without having to open them in the Office Mobile app. File Cards will be available for the files of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF stored in OneDrive for Business and Personal accounts. But this is not all, in the future Microsoft wants to support Word and PDF files locally stored on a device in a future update.
The File Cards feature offers the following:
- Online previews
- Contextual information (who shared the file and the context in which it was shared)
- Quick actions that allow you to share or save the file offline
The file cards feature is now available to Office Insiders using version 2.57 (Build 22010600) or later. On the other hand, they also want to improve movement through the app, especially gliding. The Office team also wants to improve the design of the app in landscape format to better fit any situation.
