Until now, Sony and Santa Monica have kept many secrets about God of War: Ragnarok, but a leak has revealed the new image of Odin and the collection of his ravens.
The phrase that “time is relative” never makes as much sense as when you expect something you long for. And for a few months now, fans of the God of War saga have been aware of the updates for its latest release, God of War: Ragnarok, waiting for the day to come.
And the latter is not surprising, since it is one of the most successful games among lovers of challenges. After the installment of God of War of 2018fans of Kratos and his son Atreus had an immersive experience across different kingdoms that led them to fight with fearsome enemies and, of course, see some impressive landscapes along the way.
The open world game continued with the stakes and announced that it would arrive in 2020, although, due to multiple delays, finally will be released on November 9, 2022.
Seeing as plans have changed and gameplay details have been really scarce during this time – even beyond the official release date reveal – God of War fans are waiting for more explanation from Sony. Of course, you already know what’s in the special editions, such as Tyr being somehow involved in the events of the narrative and both Kratos and Atreus seeking to stop Ragnarok, however, when it comes to gameplay and new content, Sony and Santa Monica have kept many secrets and a suspicious silence, especially since the launch is just a few months away.
What will be the details of God of War: Ragnarok?
Given the refusal of the developers and distributors to give more information about the mechanics of the game, there are rumors that this situation could change soon, once the next PlayStation Showcase will take place on September 8. Among the topics that the franchise may touch on at the event, it’s hard to think that God of War isn’t among them, if the rumors turn out to be true. However, God of War: Ragnako made the cover of Game Informer magazine, with some clarification on the combat, and more details are apparently to come.
In addition to the cover that we mentioned in connection with the game, we also Several images of God of War: Ragnarok have already been published. Thus, the fans have been thoroughly analyzed each of them. For example, they make comparisons in relation to the catches that were shown last year, among other things. Although this itself caused the players to notice a small detail in several of the screenshots that are circulating on the internet.
As you can see in the image above, a Reddit user, bdboss_777raised the possibility of Odin’s ravens returning as collectibles. Previously, there were 51 at various points that players could find in the first game, and it looks like there will be more now. In this way, the return of collectibles is a common practice in video game franchises and surely Odin had more than the 51 that were required to complete the collection. Although we will have to wait for the opinions of the fans. Also, in the leaked images we can also see a new model of the character of Odin, so it has already been assumed that he will have an important role in the next title. Even continuing to collect Odin’s ravens once they defeat the god – if it’s even possible to do so – wouldn’t really make much sense. But we will have to wait to find out if they leave them there and what their use will be.
Of course, the response to the observations of bdboss_777 has been positive. But they also don’t seem to attach much importance to Odin’s ravens for God of War: Ragnarok, seeing it as an extension of the first game. However, in other revelations yes players are seen annoyed due to the return of animations. For example, the way Kratos rows a boat and other similar details. Although they have not expressed a specific reason, it may be that they seek to save themselves large amounts of time by avoiding them. However, this is a fairly common thing in games.
And, quite to the contrary, what was relevant in the little revelation was some changes to Kratos’ weapons and shields in the next installment, fact that excited his fans, as well as the possibility that there is more ground to explore in the open world. So everything seems to be going from strength to strength for God of War: Ragnarok.
