One of the favorite jobs of modders is to carry home consoles in your pocket. We have already seen this with the Wii, GameCube, N64 and SNES. Now, a fan has given the same treatment to Playstation 2, creating a quite special laptop.
Recently, the modder known as GingerOfOz introduced us to the PS2 Eclipse, a console that you can easily carry in your pocket, and is capable of running titles such as Metal Gear Solid 2, God of War and many more games. But nevertheless, making this project a reality was not an easy task, and some elements of the home console had to be eliminated, such as the disc player.
The PS2 Eclipse features a 3D printed case, buttons that originally came from a PlayStation Vita, as well as parts of the Joy-con, a 5-inch 480p screen and a rechargeable battery. In the absence of a disc reader, a USB port is used to transfer games. However, this item causes a couple of problems, with slow loading times being the most notable in this section.
The PS2 is considered one of the best-selling consoles in history, and has a huge library of games, both first and third party. Play classics like Silent Hill 2 or Shadow of the Colossus in a portable way it is something that, without a doubt, attracts a lot of attention.
Speaking of laptops, the Switch already outsells the PS3 and Xbox 360.
