The Argentine Ezequiel Pérez Companc will be the male driver of the XITE Energy Racing team in the last round of the Extreme E season. Ezequiel will team up with Tamara Molinaro in the Energy X-Prix of Uruguay.
XITE Energy Racing has announced a new change in its driver line-up for the last round in Extreme E, an appointment that takes place in Uruguay. After competing in the first event of the championship with the couple formed by Oliver Bennett and Tamara Molinaro, replacing the British driver with Timo Scheider in Sardinia and Chile, Now the Argentine Ezequiel Pérez Companc will be the team’s male driver.
The XITE Energy Racing squad at the Uruguay Energy X-Prix will be made up of Ezequiel Pérez Companc and Tamara Molinaro, being the female the only one who has played the full championship with the team. For his part, the Argentine will make his debut in the event, in a specialty in which he has very little experience since his sports career has been focused on the circuits.

In fact, Pérez Companc has developed his career in recent years in different GT3 and endurance series, in addition to competing in eSports. The Argentine also acts as director and driver of his own team, Madpanda Motorsport, a structure that is based at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. All in all, Ezequiel does have a link to off-road racing, at least a family one.
Pérez Companc comes from a family with a strong heritage in motorsports, since his father Jorge and his uncles Luis and Pablo have been drivers. In fact, his father and one of his uncles have competed in the World Rally Championship and have also contested the Dakar. Without a doubt, Ezequiel will be able to ask for advice at home to face this challenge.

Return to old roles
With this move, Timo Scheider returns to his role as track designer for the seriesas well as reserve rider status for Extreme E. Meanwhile, Alexander Agag as founder and CEO of the championship, he has welcomed Ezequiel: «We are really delighted to receive Ezequiel Pérez Companc in the championship. We look forward to seeing how he fares in the new XITE Energy Racing lineup.”
