Synopsis for Evangelion 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time
The film begins the same way the previous two films began: an intro showing combat with the newest addition to the EVA pilots: Mari Makinami Illustrous; however, on this occasion Wille’s team is supported on a mission with the aim of recovering Paris from the corruption that caused the 3rd impact.
After this epic fight, continuity is given to the previous film, with Shinji devastated by the death of Kaworu, along with Asuka and “the one who is not Rei”, walking aimlessly through the Earth. At some point, they meet Keisuke, one of Shinji’s old classmates, who takes them to a survivor’s village in Japan where Touji and “the class representative” also meet. Once there, Asuka and the others will try to make Shinji react, forcing him to eat and live with them. After the failure, Shinji remains in shock and motionless for a while. After many attempts, “the one that is not Rei” manages to make Shinji react and helps him to rejoin.
Later, Shinji decides to give himself up to Wille voluntarily. Although Misato does not see him in person, he decides not to execute or punish him, but they do lock him up under maximum security so that he “never gets on an EVA again.” On the other hand, at NERV, Gendo Ikari finishes the preparations to finish the human complementation project, and that is when Wille decides to stop him.
After another incredible battle sequence with Asuka and Mari as protagonists, in which Asuka becomes an angel and EVA 13 disables her, Gendo boards Wille’s ship, and reveals his plan to become God; he takes EVA 01 -which was the core of the Wunder- and enters the “anti-universe”. It is then that Shinji decides to go there and confront his father and for that he has to pilot EVA 01. Will Shinji be able to save the day?
