There is no doubt that Fortnite has become one of the main bastions of the video game industry. Epic Games has managed to shape a battle royale in which the Master Chief, Kratos and Spider-Man at the same time. We can even carry out activities as special as seeing a Short Film Night or going to the Cannes Film Festival.
With the enormous capabilities of the work, which we can test through the Creative mode, its creators want to go further. In an interview with Fast Company, CEO Tim Sweeney explained that one of the steps forward that he wants to take with Fortnite is to implement an editor using Unreal Engine technology.
Sweeney’s idea happens because “anyone can create very high quality game code and content…and implement it in Fortnite without having to reach an agreement with us. Let it be open to everyone.” Epic Games’ claims point to a launch by the end of 2022 and we would be talking about a much more powerful editor than the one we can currently access with Creative mode.
Therefore, each user who creates content will be able to publish it in order to monetize it. “We will build an economy that will support creators and allow them to create business around their work, obtaining great profits from what is generated as a result of playing their content,” clarifies the person in charge.
