Sébastien Buemi will defend the interests of the Envision Racing team in the 2022-23 Formula E season, teaming up with Nick Cassidy. The Swiss begins a new stage after competing since the beginning of the championship with e.Dams (Renault and Nissan).
The team Envision Racing has completed its driver line-up for Formula E’s ‘Season Nine’ with the hiring of the Swiss Sébastien Buemi. The British structure thus closes a highly talented squad, since the Formula E champion in the 2015-16 season will team up with Nick Cassidy. In this aspect, Buemi has joined Envision from a multi-year contract.
Sébastien Buemi is one of the most successful drivers in Formula E, among other things because he has competed in the series since its inception. Always under the umbrella of the e.Dams team, both in his relationship with Renault and in his recent stage with Nissan, Buemi has been a very important asset for the championship. In fact, Sébastien has a track record in Formula E that consists of 13 wins, 29 podiums and 14 pole positions.
“My goal is to be able to fight for the top positions alongside the Envision Racing team”
Despite the fact that his last season with Nissan e.Dams has been far from the expectations that had been placed on the Swiss, the truth is that Envision Racing gets a sure value with the hiring of Sébastien Buemi. In the end, looking beyond the walls of Formula E, the Aigle driver has contested 55 Formula 1 Grands Prix and won the 24 Hours of Le Mans four times with Toyota.
In this regard, Buemi’s experience in both Formula E and WEC will be of vital importance to Envision Racing. when developing its new ‘Gen3’ single-seater. It should be remembered that the British team not only begins the new competitive era of the event with the natural uncertainty of the regulatory change, but also with a new supplier since Envision has become Jaguar’s ‘team-client’.
