Good news for all the lovers of period dramas (and most likely of The Bridgertons). Emma Corrin, winner of the Golden Globe for her wonderful role as Lady Di in The Crown, returns to the small screen hand in hand with Netflix to star in a series that promises to conquer our hearts, we read in Nylon. Lady Chatterley’s Lover is the name of this fiction that born as an adaptation of the classic novel by DH Lawrence.
The English countryside will be the backdrop for this series where forbidden love and the complexities of the high society of the moment will be the main epicenter of the plot. The original text was crossed out as scandalous and provocative when it was published in 1928, so the chances of enjoying risque scenes (in the style of Daphne and The Duke) are quite high.
The story revolves around the life of Constance Chatterley (who will be played by Corrin). The wealthy landowner Sir Clifford is her husband, but he is paralyzed from the waist down and does not pay any attention to him. In this situation, Chatterley falls in love with his estate’s handsome ranger, Oliver Mellors. Here begins the problems and the frenetic secret adventures.
At the moment, we do not have many more details. We only know that Jack O’Connell (Skins) and Matthew Duckett (A confession) have also joined the cast of actors, but it is unknown what roles they will play. Regarding the release date, it is estimated that we will be able to see this fiction at the end of next 2022.
