In Collaboration With Otherside Creator Yuga Labs, Global Rap Icons Will Give Otherside A Big Break By Transforming The VMA Stage Into Their Style For Their Latest Collaboration Single From the D 2 the LBC. However, specific details of the performance are scarce at the moment.
In what appears to be a sign to the music industry that performances in the metaverse deserve more recognition, the VMAs have also added a “Best Metaverse Performance” category to their annual awards.. Nominees for the award include Justin Bieber, Rift Tour (with Ariana Grande) and Twenty One Pilots.

The VMAs may be hoping that by embracing the Metaverse, they can once again inflate their low viewing numbers.. After peaking at 12.4 million viewers in 2011, the awards have seen a steady decline in viewers, with the 900,000 who tuned in live to the awards show on MTV representing the eighth consecutive year that viewership has declined.

The single marks the first collaboration between the two artists in 20 years, and the duo is up for the “Best Hip Hop” award. Both Eminem and Snoop Dogg are patrons of BAYC’s NFTs, and the song’s music video heavily features content from the NFT collection. Snoop Dogg has also recently been featured in an EDM single called BAYC by Esther Anaya in an animated video by Bored Apes and other NFTs..
Eminem bought a hip-hop dressed Bored Ape on December 31 for 123.45 ethers (ETH) and also has a collection of another 28 NFTs under the name Shady_Holdings. Snoop Dog is a much more avid holder in the NFT space; a partnership between him and The Sandbox led to The Doggies’ collection of NFTs, as well as the purchase of a Bored Ape on December 22.
Otherside and its travelers
Otherside is a gamified interoperable metaverse that is currently in beta development. The platform offers Otherdeed NFTs to represent the digital ownership of parcels in the virtual world affiliated with BAYC, and Otherdeed holders are called Voyagers (or travelers).

According to the lite document, “Otherside will support interoperability in the future, giving Voyagers the opportunity to bring their own collections and external NFTs to life within our metaverse”.
According to CryptoSlam data, Otherdeed’s NFT sales have exceeded $1 billion to date, with $23.5 million of volume in the last 30 days. Demand is also quite high for the top tier NFTs in the collection; one parcel was sold for a staggering 333.33 ETH (currently valued at $565,289) four months ago.
Otherside allowed users to enter its metaverse for the first time on July 16; 4,500 users were able to enter and experience the virtual world. Only Voyagers and selected third-party developers were able to participateand the trip seems to have been a great success according to the tweets of his followers.
