Elon Musk imagines a world in which the automotive industry changes completely. He wants old engines that run on fuels that are counterproductive to the environment to be abandoned, and for electric cars to predominate (zero emissions) like those manufactured by one of his many companies, Tesla Motors.
In addition to manufacturing electric cars, the company Elon Musk has to establish charging points throughout the country where they market their devices, which would be substitutes for the old gas stations. That is already on the way, in fact there are several in the United States.
But the South African tycoon wants to make some of these service stations something truly futuristic, where users find more than just an energy charging point. Elon Musk seeks, through Tesla Motors, to offer true entertainment.
It is achieving this with a futuristic superstation that is about to open in an area of the famous Route 66 in Los Angeles, California, according to a review Forbes. The idea is that those who are going to charge their Tesla (or another brand of electric car) will even have the opportunity to watch a movie, since they will have a kind of drive-in movie theater, like in the 60s.
“Elon Musk’s retrofuturistic Tesla supercharging station is being built on Santa Monica Boulevard, which is the stretch of historic Route 66 in West Hollywood,” the aforementioned site reports.
“Our futuristic Tesla (Grease meets Supercharged Jetsons) restaurant in Los Angeles should be ready later this year,” Elon Musk said in a message on his X account.
I wonder what kind of hotel we would design if we did so.

“I’m going to install an old-school drive-in movie theater, skates, and a rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in Los Angeles,” Elon Musk had said in a message on what was then Twitter, in 2018.
A conceptual art shows what this Tesla service station will look like, which will aim to be replicated in other areas of the United States and, why not, spread to other parts of the world.
