During the presentation to be held at the gigafactory that Tesla has in the Texas town of Austin (USA), and which is scheduled to start at 21:00 GMT, Musk is also expected to offer details about the new assembly plant that the manufacturer will install in Mexico.
On Tuesday, the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, revealed that he has reached an agreement with Musk for the installation of a Tesla factory in the town of Monterrey, in the north of the country.
The plant, which would join those that Tesla has in the United States (Fremont, Austin and Nevada), China (Shanghai) and Germany (Berlin), is necessary if Musk wants to meet his commitment to produce 20 million cars a year by 2030. .
Last year, Tesla produced 1.31 million vehicles worldwide.
Musk is also expected to announce updates on Wednesday for vehicles built on the company’s second-generation platform, the ModelY and he Model 3.
