The newly introduced Apple Vision Pro continue to generate controversy and now Elon MuskCEO of Twitter, Tesla and SpaceX, has decided to join in on the teasing with his own quirky twist. Although somewhat late, Musk expressed his opinion about Apple’s revolutionary extended reality glasses using his favorite weapon: a meme.
On his Twitter account, the tycoon shared an image that alluded to the price of the Vision Pro, one of the most criticized aspects of the productaccording to the report of The vanguard.
In the meme, Musk compares the steep $3,499 cost of the Apple device with the price of some hallucinogenic mushrooms that promise to “contact with UFOs and aliens”.
This is a humorous reference that isn’t that far removed from Apple’s promise to allow users to interact with digital content as if they were physically present in their environment.
Mark Zuckerberg’s opinion
But Musk wasn’t the only one to share his perspective on Apple’s new product. Mark Zuckerberg, senior leader of Meta Quest and other products focused on augmented and virtual reality, also expressed his opinion on the matter.
Zuckerberg claimed that “Apple has no magic solution” And while he acknowledged that the Vision Pro might make sense in certain uses, its hefty price tag, seven times that of Meta Quest’s most recent models, demonstrates a clear “difference in values and vision” between the two companies.
In addition, Zuckerberg suggested that Apple focuses its lenses in a more individual and solitary way, while Facebook seeks a more social experience, focused on the connection between users instead of their isolation.
There is no doubt that Apple’s new product has generated quite a stir. However, we still have to wait a few months to see the response from consumers, which will be essential to determine the future of the Apple Vision Pro.
