After confirming that he will buy Twitter (once all the paperwork and regulatory controls are finished), Elon Musk returns to the fray for other companies. In this case: Coca Cola.
That’s right, the tycoon said this Thursday, April 28, that his next target will be the best-known soft drink company in the world. Did he really mean it? Joking? The truth is that he started with Twitter and finally bought the social network for 44 billion dollars.
For now, the announcement was made with a strong controversy: “I’m going to buy Coca-Cola to put cocaine back in it,” he wrote on his own social network.
The unusual post went viral (unsurprisingly), with more than 2.5 million reactions, including 120 thousand replies.
Elon Musk’s controversial message generated strong reactions on Twitter. Numerous users spoke out in relation to the idea. “I don’t know about you but… I’m already liking the new purchase from @elonmusk,” one account joked.
Others, on the contrary, They speak of the “madness” of the businessman. “This is Kanye West’s level of insanity,” one user wrote with the hashtag “#ElonNotIsOkay.”
With the same idea, another added: “Why would you do that? That’s stupid; Take back what you just said. It grows!”.

Elon Musk wants to buy McDonald’s to fix the ice cream machines
An hour after the tweet about buying Coca-Cola and adding cocaine to the formula, the South African tycoon posted: “Let’s make Twitter as fun as possible!” and launched a joke against McDonald’s.
“Pay attention, I can’t do miracles,” he posted, attaching an image of a fake tweet from his own account that reads: “Now I’m going to buy McDonald’s and I’m going to fix all the ice cream machines.”
It should be remembered that ice cream machine breakages are one of the problems that McDonald’s employees usually report as the most frequent problems at their points of sale.
Going back to the Coca-Cola formula, it did have, in its beginnings, cocaine.
What’s more, the company founded in 1886 presented the drink as a solution for headaches and as a stimulant.
By then, cocaine was an accepted commodity. We are talking about more than 120 years ago, when it was marketed as a medicine in the US for dental pain in children and to treat gout.
Of course, the scientific evidence against it advanced in subsequent years, so in 1903 Coca-Cola removed it from the composition and replaced it with caffeine.
