After a disastrous start Elon Musk is set to charge its Twitter Blue subscribers again this December 12, 2022.
It has been extremely difficult weeks for the blue bird social network since Elon Musk took control of the company after buying it in a controversial deal with many twists where now the corporate seems to function more like a hotel.
We witnessed the whole thing with Twitter Blue and the new verification badges go awry.
At the time, Musk himself stated that it would not be the first incident of its kind, since they would adopt a trial and error dynamic to advance in this transition process.
Well, the time has come to try again and Twitter Blue will be relaunched on December 12, 2022. Only this move is accompanied by an unpleasant surprise for iOS users.
Since, for an apparently very crooked reason, they will have to pay more than the subscribers who use the Android operating system. Here we explain the reasons.
Why Twitter Blue will be more expensive for iPhone users and other Apple devices
Through a publication on his official account within his own social network, Twitter has announced that this Monday, December 12, we will witness the relaunch of Twitter Blue.
That in itself was a big surprise, but what many perhaps didn’t expect was the accompanying announcement that its cost would be higher for Apple users:
The company, according to what it explains in the thread of its publication, will be able to subscribe to the renewed service that will allow them to edit tweets, upload videos in 1080p resolution and obtain a blue check mark after completing the new verification process of the bill.
Similarly, with this launch, the “official” label will be replaced with a gold check mark for companies and, later in the week, a gray check mark will be implemented for government and “multilateral” accounts.
Twitter Blue subscribers will be able to change their handle or at, display name, or profile photo, but if they do, they will temporarily lose the blue checkmark until their account is reviewed again.
All this for a cost of USD $8 per month for web and Android users, but for subscribers using Apple devices it will cost USD $11 per month.
The company has not clarified the specific reasons for this cost difference. But heexisting reports They point out that it would be to amortize the fees imposed for the use of the Apple App Store.
So the consumers themselves would have to pay that difference in amount.
