Since Elon Musk acquired Twitter, its main focus has been solving the platform’s financial challenges, facing controversial decisions such as staff cuts and reducing office expenses. For nearly a year, Musk has made no secret of the delicate situation Twitter finds itself in, turning his attention to a new unexpected factor: the anti defamation league (ADL).
According to a recent article in Ars Technica (via 3D Games), Musk has used the platform, renamed “X”, to address the relationship between Twitter and the ADL. From their perspective, the ADL has directly damaged Twitter by claiming that the platform hosts anti-Semitic, racist, and other hateful content.
Consequently, Musk argues that this has resulted in the loss of billions of dollars in advertising revenue for X and does not hesitate to take action if necessary.
willing to sue
Musk alleges that revenues in the United States have decreased by 60%, a situation that he attributes to the “pressure exerted by ADL on advertisers”.
In his statements, he accuses this organization of having been “about to kill Twitter” and he goes even further by claiming that “false accusations” of anti-Semitism have been made against both him and the platform.
In this context, the also CEO of Tesla and SpaceX reveals that will not hesitate to sue the ADL if they continue in this linesince he believes that his actions could lose Twitter up to 22 billion dollars, half of what he paid to acquire the platform.
If this continues, we will have no choice but to file a defamation suit against, ironically, the “Anti-Defamation” League.
If they lose the defamation suit, we will insist that they drop the the “anti” part of their name, since obviously… 😂

The ADL’s response has not been long in coming: members of the organization are not surprised by the repercussions that the case has had on Twitter. According to an ADL spokesperson, they expected “anti-Semites, white supremacists, conspiracy theorists, and other trolls” unite to launch a “coordinated attack” against him. However, instead of frightening the organization, this situation reinforces its “unwavering commitment” to the fight against hate.
