The people have spoken. Elon Musk had the apparent occurrence of launching a vote on his official account of Twitter for the community itself to decide whether to stay or leave his position as CEO of the platform and it did not go very well.
There is a comprehensive and exemplary account of each and every one of the actions that the executive has promoted during his turbulent weeks in command of that site. Resulting in a series of incidents that have definitely impacted his public image.
It goes without saying that practically every movement, focused primarily on finding ways to maximize their income and profits immediately or in the short term, has been harshly criticized by users and specialists.
In fact, lately, when entering sites like Change.org, it is already possible to find various types of petitions asking Musk to immediately abandon his position as CEO of the social network or even of Tesla Motors before I completely ruin them.
Well, it seems that Elon has listened to his audience and there is no going back. For better and for worse.
Elon Musk closes the voting and the majority wants him out of Twitter
As we already reported on December 18, 2022, Elon Musk published a voting survey through his official Twitter account, in which he asked the entire community of active users of the social network whether or not he should resign as CEO of said platform.
To be honest, those of us who followed the count from the beginning always saw the same trend that ended up being maintained and confirmed until the end: Elon Musk I had to leave the position immediately, and that was exactly how the count ended:
Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 18, 2022
More than 17 and a half million votes and half a million likes, we are, perhaps, before the most popular vote in the history of Twitter. So the community made itself heard and everything indicates that Musk will indeed abandon his position.
Since the closing of the votes, he has kept a relative silence on the subject. but he has stated in the section of responses to tweets that the issue is actually finding who wants to take the job as CEO of the social network:
No one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 19, 2022
According to Elon himself, nobody wants to do the necessary work that would keep Twitter alive, so there is no defined successor to relieve him as Director.
The articulation of that response seems to hint that Musk has a firm strategy planned out and is actually looking for someone willing to go along with his idea.
After seeing the results of the first few weeks with Elon as head of Twitter, we can’t blame whoever is refusing to follow in his footsteps.
