The developers have officially confirmed that Guardians Of The Galaxy and Avengers use different engines, since Guardians is built on the same engine as Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Eidos gave a direct response in a discussion on Twitter, clarifying that both Marvel titles were not made on the same engine.
Until now, Guardians of the Galaxy looks very opposite to Avengers, focusing on a linear adventure based on the story of a group of brilliant personalities rather than being a live service robot brawler. Guardians Of The Galaxy and Avengers use different engines
A Twitter user assumed that Guardians Of The Galaxy and Avengers were using the Foundation game engine. These tools were used in various Crystal Dynamics projects, such as Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Taking into account that both studies have collaborated closely before, the person mistakenly believed that Guardians Of The Galaxy could use some assets such as character models and Avengers animations, thus reducing the workload.

However, it is not the case. According to the team, Guardians Of The Galaxy uses the Dawn engine, previously implemented in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Therefore, Eidos has finally managed to close the matter, silencing the skeptics forever. Guardians Of The Galaxy will arrive on time on October 26
