The goal is to integrate people with autism, depression and attention deficit disorder into society.
Every year, 25 thousand children are born with some type of autism in our country and there are 4 million Mexicans who suffer from depression, the fifth in a profound way. In addition, 6% of the population between 5 and 16 years old suffers from ADD .
Psychologist Konny Pérez Espino learned from a medical diagnosis that her husband had Multiple Sclerosis. So, 15 years ago, the quality of life expectancy for people with this disease was minimal, so she with her own means began to study and look for alternatives that would help her rehabilitate her husband from the neurological area in conjunction with other 4 areas that made a difference in your treatment. Thus was born the Talitá Kum center, whose meaning in Aramaic is? Get up ?. He developed this system that literally lifts patients and allows them to set general and specific goals, with high levels of success.
Kony created a program that focuses on different areas at the same time: behavior, language and communication, neuromovement, emotional organization, and learning. Talitá Kum specializes in caring for patients with three main problems: Autism, ADD and Depression. Each one of them goes through an evaluation process and based on this their Talitá Kum is created with monthly and weekly objectives and three main values are practiced as part of the program which are humility, simplicity and gratitude.
The objective is to help the patient to understand and recognize his condition, to locate him from humility to make him aware and to improve his quality of life. Support the patient to integrate or reintegrate into their environment with simplicity, accompanying them in their daily work, being grateful for being able to experience such palpable changes in their treatment and living a different way of life every day.
The Talitá Kum center, in the mornings, offers a school program attached to the Ministry of Public Education; and in the afternoons, each one of its students, sheltered by a group of experts in different areas, sticks to the therapeutic program , the length of which can vary depending on the case: from six months to two years.
