Progressive Web Applications or PWAs continue to advance steadily. No, they don’t like everyone, but every day they are improving more to offer an experience closer to that of native apps. Now Edge 96 finalize a new design to work even better with these apps.
Edge 96 boasts design for PWAs
Microsoft has announced a new design feature for Edge 96, currently only on the Canary channel for the Edge browser. A number of users will be able to test the new design. This allows you to better manage installed web applications. When you go to edge: // apps In the browser, we will now see a page that shows us, much better than before, the PWAs and the websites installed as applications.
Now we can order our applications by any of the following options:
- Recently used.
- Alphabetically, based on the title.
- Instalation date.
In addition, we can also organize apps in a list or grid view. And it will allow us to easily anchor applications to the taskbar or the Start menu. Being able to create a shortcut and allow applications to run when logging in. Before, when clicking on a PWA it opened, now we can see the details and access the options that we have indicated.
A very important element is be able to see the permissions and privacy related to the application and other important details. As is often the case, this design should hit the Dev channel in the next few weeks. The design has certainly improved and we are looking forward to testing it.
