This past February saw several highly anticipated video game releases. One of them was the Dying Light 2: Stay Human, the second installment in Techland’s zombie-parkour franchise, and now seems poised to begin expanding its story. And it is that after launching several patches with corrections, improvements, cosmetic content and others, now Dying Light 2 offers details about its first expansion. Specifically, it has been the main designer of the game, Tymon Smektala, who has spoken with Game Informer providing the first clues about what we can find in this first extensive post-launch content.
“I’ve seen a lot of speculation online about what the first ever promised DLC will look like, and I can confidently say that… they’re not even close of how it really is”, Smektala began by saying before pointing out that it will be a story “outside of the main events”. Rumors had focused on an expansion that would expand the story after the end of the main game, but it seems that Techland is saving that content for later: “at some point we will start adding more to the events that happen at the end of the game. We have some ideas. On paper, as we are implementing them right now, it looks promising, but it will be a challenge”.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human Review
Smektala, of course, is referring to the challenge of crafting stories set after the end of the game given that Dying Light 2 has multiple endings depending on what decisions we have made. From Techland they have already confirmed that they would release a lot of post-launch content for Dying Light 2, specifically for the next five years, something similar to what has happened with the first installment of the franchise. Remember that Dying Light 2: Stay Human is already available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and other platforms.
