The tension continues around Municipal Sports. At the sporting level, the ‘edil’ cast accumulates five consecutive defeats (against Alianza Lima, Melgar and Binacional, ADT and D. Garcilaso) and today they occupy the last place in the standings in the Betsson League 1 Closing Tournament. Now, at the administrative level, its current situation is more delicate: the Court of Licenses of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) suspended the club’s license for a date, a sanction that leaves the duel against Atlético Grau on hold, scheduled for date 8.
According to the document issued by the sports body, the ‘Academy’ received a suspension date and a fine from a Tax Unit (UIT), equivalent to 4,950 soles (which must be paid within a period of no more than 30 days calendar), for non-compliance with their economic obligations. Unfortunately, it is not the only penalty that the mayor’s squad has received so far this season.
On July 25, the FPF Licensing Commission resolved to suspend the club’s license for not complying with the payment schedule for the second time in the year. On that occasion, said punishment was given for two dates, affecting the duels against ADT and Deportivo Garcilaso; however, the institution received the go-ahead to play and appeared in both matches, although without success in terms of results (they lost 1-2 in Lima and then 5-2 in Cusco).
Another detail to point out is that, so far this year, Municipal he lost five points for non-payment. Also, since the start of the season, he lost a game due to Walk Over and another administratively against Carlos A. Mannucci (the first due to his position regarding broadcast rights).
This leaves the team on the verge of relegation, since in the Clausura table they occupy last place with three points in seven games, while in the Accumulated they are in 18th place and have 21 points in 25 games. To this must be added the great migration of footballers that it suffered in the middle of the year, after the departure of some elements at the end of the Opening.
In the next few days the ‘edil’ institution must respond to the resolution issued by the TL-FPF, in order to compete in the local tournament. However, if they do not accumulate more points in the remaining games, they risk being relegated this season.
