The Vegeta’s introduction in the first arc of Dragon Ball Z He gave us one of the best rivalries in the world of anime. The prince of the Saiyans appears as a villain and later transforms into one of the Z Warriors. At first he wants to surpass Goku, but it is a difficult job for him, and that in most cases he cannot achieve.
At the beginning of this month we told you three moments in which Vegeta managed to surpass Goku, after performing a surprising training session. Our article achieved a good impact, since several of our colleagues from other media replicated it.
So, this motivated us to do another count with the prince of the Saiyans and his rivalry with Goku as the main focus. In this new review we will remember three moments in which Vegeta thought he had surpassed Kakarot, but unfortunately he was far below his powers.
The planet Namek
After having fought Goku on Earth, where he was on the verge of death, Vegeta increased his powers after recovering in the capsules of Frieza’s army. Later he goes through a similar situation fighting Zarbon and becomes even stronger.
The prince of the Saiyans thought he had surpassed Goku, who he was sure had not gone through the same traumatic situations. However, the Earth-raised Saiyan trained with gravity increased to 100 on the spaceship made for him at Capsule Corporation and reached levels never seen before. In fact, this is when he transforms into a Super Saiyan.
Exit from the Room of Time
Vegeta certainly surpassed Goku in power when he left the time room, as he was the first to enter and spent a year (one day outside) inside. So that made him take advantage of Ki’s expulsion.
However, Vegeta was unable to decipher that with such an increase in muscles, in that phase prior to Super Saiyan 2, he was spending energy and losing speed. So, in a battle against Goku in this state, he would have inevitably lost.
Majin Vegeta
Goku dies in the Cell saga and Vegeta tries to correct his past mistakes, being very sure that he would meet Kakarot again. That happens in the Majin Buu arc, but his nemesis, limited by the fact that he was dead and couldn’t expend as much energy, didn’t show him how far he had come.
Vegeta allows himself to be dominated by Babidi to confront Goku and commits truly atrocious acts. But not even in this way does Kakarot show him his true power. There, Trunks’ father thinks he has surpassed his lifelong rival. But he didn’t know that in the afterlife he had achieved Super Saiyan 3. Poor Vegeta.
