In a move that no one expected, not even the longest-lived fans of anime and manga, the future release of the title has just been officially revealed. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4.
This is extraordinary news, particularly for fans of the franchise for three decades, since it was that generation that had the opportunity to witness the birth of the Budokai Tenkaichi as well.
It is a delivery of games focused on the saga of Dragon Ball Z (with some characters and designs outside the official canon of that time) where the anime warriors engage in a spectacular fighting game.
At the time, each game in the Budokai series was distinguished by feeling as if we had the opportunity to control a crazy episode of the anime, thanks to its fluid and hyper-realistic graphics (for its time).
The third chapter was even more spectacular than the first two, but there was always the expectation that something much better could be achieved. It is in this context that we receive the great news of a new title in this saga.
The complicated mission is to recover the prestige of this series, having as a direct reference the brutal Dragon Ball FighterZ which many consider the best game in all history for this franchise. But the first trailer promises to go even further.
This is what the great Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 looks like
the boys of bandai namco have allowed a total of 16 years to elapse since the release of the previous installment of this series. In that span we’ve seen terrible games interspersed with a few exceptions, like the aforementioned FighterZ.
Today, finally, that cycle of a decade and a half of drought is about to end, showing the first trailer from Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4, which is tasked with taking over from a game that is widely considered the best in Dragon Ball Z history:
The preview of this new game has not been officially released by the studio on its YouTube channels, since, strictly speaking, it was only revealed during the streaming of the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour final on Sunday, March 5, 2023.
Because of this, the video, which serves as a kind of teaser, was initially shared by several verified YouTube channels, including Gamers Prey.
In the video we have some flashbacks mixed in with Goku’s face evolving into the most recent Super Saiyan form in the anime canon.
There isn’t even an estimated release date, but fans want it now.
