The spheres are a fundamental part of the adventures that take place in Dragon Ball. Although they no longer have the same impact or importance as before, they are still out there, very present in the imagination of Akira Toriyama and Toyotaro.
These talismans were responsible for Goku meeting Bulma and Yamcha. They attracted villains like Vegeta or Frieza and made us know the origins of Piccolo.
Shenlong was the first dragon we met, but over time others appeared that, at first, seemed to be more powerful. Are they really stronger? I have my doubts and I am going to explain what they are. Then you can agree or not and, as always, we can discuss it.
The canonical dragons of Dragon Ball
Before starting the analysis let’s identify the first thing: the three dragons that appear in the canon. Here does not count GT or Heroes. Let’s go to the bone, to what he wrote Akira Toriyama who are Shenlong, Polunga (Namek) and Trombo (Cereal).
We all know Shenron’s capabilities: a single wish (three with Dendé) with which he can encompass everything that comes to mind on Earth, as long as he doesn’t exceed his powers.
Polunga brought us the possibility of more than one wish and Trombo stands out as it only takes two spheres to summon it.
The three wishes that Polunga arrived with and his muscular build make us think that he is stronger than Shenlong. But, the reality is that the Earth dragon can revive as many people as it wants in a single wish and the Namekian only one per wish. So goodbye, this one is not stronger than the one created by the kami of our planet.
In the case of Trombo, recently appeared in the Dragon Ball Super manga, there is a special issue. The dragon bestowed powers that surpassed his own limits. He caused Gas and Granola to become the most powerful beings in Universe 7.
Said wish could mean that he is stronger than Shenron. But it could be said that, in a very personal opinion, this leads to irremediable consequences such as the shortening of the life of the person who makes the wish.
So this consequence counteracts what Shenron asks of you. It is because of this specific situation that, it could be said, that each dragon that has appeared in Dragon Ball has the same power, only different ways of acting.
