It seems that, at least, Chi-Chi will be happy…
Throughout his career and continuing into Dragon Ball Super, Goku has only had two things on his mind: training to become stronger and facing deadlier enemies, as well as food. This has caused him to be singled out as a disobedient character in his family, even more so when compared to Piccolo or other saiyans like Vegeta (or his own son, Gohan). However, it may be that in the recent chapters of the saga, we have had a perfect evolution of his character.
Although we know that Goku is a man of simple pleasures from whom we should not expect anything more than the minimum. His wife, Chi-Chi, pinned her hopes on him and has a dream that she will do more with his life than eat and get into fights. Well, as teased out in several recent installments of Dragon Ball Super, Goku already has a perfect ending, one that will make him and Chi-Chi very happy.
After the conclusion of the “future” Trunks Saga of Dragon Ball Super, where Goku, Vegeta and Trunks from that universe saved the multiverse from the villain Zamasu and Goku Black, our protagonist got a job to support his family. While he made it clear that he would rather train with Whis and Lord Beerus to become the next angel (and in this way succeed Whis), Goku wouldn’t dare challenge Chi-Chi, since that’s the only fight he can ever win and he knows it well.
While delivering produce from his own farm, Goku stumbles upon a way to earn money and increase his strength, pretty much his dream job. In Akira Toriyama and Toyotarou’s Dragon Ball Super chapter 27, Goku is attacked by a group of bandits who want to steal his product truck. Clearly, the criminals did not know that Goku is a cosmic warrior who can fight on equal terms against the deities of his world, as they are truly stunned when he catches every bullet that is fired at him when he refuses to obey.
Not wanting to hurt them too much (fearing some reprimand from his wife), Goku gently incapacitates the bandits and turns them into cops, at which point he receives a bounty as the bandits had a bounty on their heads, a chain of events that turned Goku into Goku into an unwitting (but successful) bounty hunter. This gives you the chance to finally leave your life away from home and fulfill your lifelong dream..
The perfect ending for Goku in Dragon Ball Super
This stint as a bounty hunter wasn’t the last time Goku used his law enforcement powers, as he was appointed a temporary galactic patrolman during Dragon Ball Super’s Moro saga. Since then, Goku has not dabbled in bounty hunting or law enforcement of any kind.although that could change soon. In the most recent chapters of the Toriyama and Toyotarou series, our protagonist fights alongside a character named Granola, who is an intergalactic bounty hunter. Once his mission is complete, it’s not too much of a stretch to consider that Granola could introduce Goku to the bounty hunter lifestyle, allowing him to earn all the money he could possibly need while also keeping himself in good shape by using his abilities to take down criminals. rebels.
While Goku has no interest in doing almost anything for money as, again, he only focuses on fighting and eating, Chi-Chi will insist that Goku get a job after he is done fighting the hitmen alongside Granola.. At that point, Goku may find bounty hunting a fantastic alternative to farming and delivering goods, and as long as the money is good, Chi-Chi would be happy with that decision too. From satiating Goku’s love of fighting to paying him enough to support his family, being a bounty hunter would be the perfect ending for Goku, and previous Dragon Ball Super chapters have already hinted at that particular career as a possible outcome.
Until now, we don’t know if Toriyama and Toyotarou have maintained this destiny of Goku or not, let’s remember that they are authors known for altering the time lines of their characters as they did with Bardock, by giving it a more dramatic and heroic background than it originally had. It will be a matter of waiting for the following chapters to find out.
