NASA has published its first interactive comic. And everyone can enjoy it because it is available for free to download.
The POT is a public body that requires a large budget to carry out projects as ambitious as return to the Moon, or set foot on Mars for the first time.
For successive US governments to finance this budget, it is necessary that citizens support their projects. And at the same time they need vocations so that children decide to be astronauts.
That is why it carries out many initiatives to teach young people what NASA is, and what it does. As for example your NASA’s first comic with augmented reality, which you can download for free. You can see it here:
The comic is called First Woman, and chronicles the adventures of Callie Rodriguez, who aspire to be the first woman to step on the moon.
The comic tells the story of Callie since she was a child, when she dreamed of being an astronaut, and how she built the RT robot, which will accompany her on her adventures.
It is a fictitious story, but one that in a few years will become reality, because NASA has confirmed that the Artemis mission, scheduled for 2024, will put a woman on the moon.
First Woman is the first issue in a series that NASA has planned to launch from here until the Artemis mission rocket lifts off.
It is a traditional comic, which you can download for free in PDF format and read on a screen, or print on paper.
But it is also an augmented reality comic. Using a mobile app available for iOS and Android, you can read a barcode that is in various panels of the comic.
Then you access additional content like explore the comic scene in 3D, learn to operate the ship that will travel to the cloud, participate in question and answer contests, and much more.
It is a comic for all audiences that anyone can enjoy. It is also intended to be used in class as an educational tool to teach children what the imminent (or so we hope) will be like. trip to the moon from NASA.
You can download the NASA First Woman comic on its official website. As indicated in the Press release, will be available in Spanish “soon“.
