On February 15, the Mexican government promised to connect the 20 million Mexicans who still live without internet by 2024 through the public program “Internet for all” of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).
The company currently has a population covered with Internet networks of 91.48 million people —72.6% of the population— and it is expected that this 2023 there will be coverage of more than 115.79 million inhabitants, which refers to 91.9%.
In an effort to include more and more Mexicans in its network, the CFE has launched a chip for mobile phones with free Internet included. Getting this SIM card is extremely simple; it is enough to be affiliated with a program of the Ministry of Well-being.
