So far, Truth Social has received 875 thousand downloads; however, the number of registered users is much lower.
Since its launch, and days after Twitter was bought by Elon Musk, Donald Trump has made his first post or “truth”.
Donald Trump is back, literally, on his own social network, Truth Socialin which he published for the first time since it was launched.
One of the most active personalities on social networks, especially on Twitter, was the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, who was even banned from the platform that tycoon Elon Musk recently bought.
Trump’s social network debuted on February 21which, in its first days, reached the figure of 875 thousand downloads and, even when it became known that Elon Musk would buy Twitter, Truth Social had an upturn in the number of downloads.
However, to date, some users have commented that it is difficult to complete the registration in Truth Social, in addition to the fact that it is not available worldwide and has several errors. In fact, while on Twitter he had 89 million followers, on his own social network, Donald Trump, barely has two million followers.
According to the former US president, Truth Social would be the opposite of Twitter: a social network where freedom of expression was its main pillar; however, there are already users reporting censorship on Truth Social.
Now, something that was striking was the fact that the owner of Truth Social, that is, Donald Trump, had not made an appearance on his own platform… until today.
Information published in some media confirms that, after two months, the former president of the United States, has already made his first publication, assuring that “I’m back”followed by the hashtag #COVFEFE.
This first post or “truth” on his own social network has obtained 274 thousand likes and 98 thousand “retruths” (the equivalent of retweets on Twitter).
Since it was launched, Truth Social has been downloaded, as we already mentioned, 875 thousand times, although this number is far from the officially registered users.
One of the main complaints that Truth Social has received is about how complicated it is to complete the registration, since, to date, there are thousands of Internet users on the waiting list who have not been verified by the social network.
On the other hand, also since the platform was made available to some users, the issue of censorship has been one of the most reported.
According to what was published on Mashable, among the users who have decided to join Donald Trump’s social network there is a user named Matt Ortega, a web developer who, shortly after signing up, received an email from Truth Social that his account was locked.
The aforementioned medium says that Ortega registered with the user @DevinNunesCow and that was the reason why he was banned from Truth Social, and that is because said name refers to a parody account that exists on Twitter.
“After careful review, we have decided to permanently delete your account due to violations of the Truth Social community guidelines,” was the message that reached Matt Ortega’s email, which reveals that, in essence, his Account was deleted because Donald Trump doesn’t like it.
It should be noted that, at the moment, Truth Social is only available for download in the United States, although the idea is to expand it to several countries.
