Since his arrival in Mexico in 2017, Doctoralia has distinguished itself by transforming health. Since then, it has positioned itself as a new option to connect doctors with patients through the Internet. With the peak of digitalization that has been experienced during the last two years, its growth has been even greater.
Historic investment to drive digital health
The company’s commitment has been reflected in the volume of investment it has made to develop the human and technological aspects. Only so far this year, it has allocated more than 160 million pesos in Mexico. It has also generated more than 350 jobs throughout the country and has reinforced its portfolio of solutions for the corporate market.
“After 5 years of operations in the country, today more than 190 thousand health professionals have trusted us to digitize their processes and make their times more efficient, which has led us to reach a total of 25 million reservations since 2017. However, we want to go beyond this and in addition to providing tools to health professionals, in the last year we have focused on strengthening our portfolio of services for the corporate sector. This is where we still have a lot of work ahead of us”, said Adrián Alcántara, General Director of Doctoralia México.
Only this year, from January to August, 8.6 million appointments have been scheduled, a figure that represents exponential growth and that the company expects to close with more than 12 million appointments scheduled through Doctoralia. That is, almost half of what has been achieved in the entire history of the platform.
In the corporate sector, more and more clinics and hospitals have begun to invest much more in technology to save time by automating manual tasks and improving the patient experience.
“Currently we have hundreds of clinics of all sizes that have joined the digital transformation, but we also know that there are many more clinics that are open to transforming their usual way of working in order to provide better patient care, since the patient has also become the center of medical care after the pandemic.”
Profile of patients who schedule medical appointments online
In the case of patients, Doctoralia 68% of people who seek a specialist are women between the ages of 25 and 44. And they are the ones that interact the most in the “Ask the Expert” section, where historically more than 732 thousand questions have been asked in these five years.
Doctoralia has positioned itself as one of the most visited pages in Mexico. It has registered more than 10 million visits per month, while the patient app is in the top 5 of medical apps, both for Android and iOS.
With all this work, only in 2022 Doctoralia has increased its turnover steadily and for next year it is expected to increase by 50 percent. By 2023, the company plans to invest more than 350 million pesos in human capital, technological development and expansion in the corporate sector.
