For his part, emotional support animals are considered necessary for mental and psychological health. They accompany their owners in cases of anxiety, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress, social phobia or low mood.
However, for this second group of animals to be able to travel in the cabin of an airplane, a medical certificate issued by a specialist or psychiatrist not older than one year is requested, indicating the person’s need to travel with the ‘loin’ ‘.
Tenderloins that can travel with you
According to the Federal Consumer Attorney’s Office (Profeco), pets that cannot be considered within the two previous categories must travel in the cargo compartment, unless they meet certain requirements.
Aeroméxico, for example, allows the transport of dogs, cats and even birds, as long as the flight lasts six hours or less. In order for them to travel on most of this and other airlines, the following conditions must be met:
- Travel in a container that measures a maximum of 48x30x25 cm
- Weigh a maximum of 9 kilos (counting the container)
- Have more than four months of life
- Have a vaccination card
- Current rabies vaccine
- Certificate of good health issued by a veterinarian (original and copy)
