There is no doubt that improving the photographic experience of Xiaomi phones is one of the main objectives of MIUI 12. Among the many new features that the update introduces, many of them are focused on the camera section, thanks to functions such as the mode that will allow users to clone themselves using only the camera of their mobile phone, without any extra effort.
But that is not the only interesting novelty that MIUI 12 introduces in terms of photography. The update also introduces a series of new photography filters, with which users can both edit their images in the gallery and view how the scenes will look with those filters in real-time through the camera application. One of these new filters is the so-called “Black Gold”, which today they show us from the MIUI official forum.
This is what the “Black Gold” photography filter included in MIUI 12 looks like
As they explain in the forum post, the filter in question is reminiscent of the “Cyberpunk” setting that the company had already integrated into the camera application’s filter catalog. In this case, it is a filter that reduces the exposure of the image and the illumination of the dark parts of the photograph, to highlight the highlights. These lights also take on a yellow/gold touch that gives the image a distinctive look.
Through the Chinese social network Weibo, some more photos that show how this filter can completely change the photos taken with brand devices – or with other devices, since the filter is included directly in the gallery app.
We are happy to know that Xiaomi continues to bet on creative photography through new settings and functions that bring this type of technique closer to a wider audience. And it is that thanks to these filters it is not necessary to resort to photo editors that allow complex adjustments to the images.
