You better get ready, because tomorrow June 14 at 1:51 p.m. you have an appointment with the moon. At that exact time, one of the most anticipated phenomena for the world of astronomy will take place: “the strawberry moon“, or what is the same, the last full moon this spring 2022. That is, the Earth will stand between the Moon and the Sun, creating a unique effect. After marveling at the blood moon and the lunar eclipse, now it is the turn of this most special phenomenon.

So you can send your name to the Moon in the next NASA mission
But far from the event stopping there, it joins another that makes it even more unique and relevant: that will be the moment when the natural satellite is closest to our planet. That is why many call it Strawberry Supermoon (or pink supermoon). It is a long-awaited and special phenomenon, since only two to four supermoons occur each year.
For this reason, tomorrow we will be “only” 357,000 kilometers away from it, so we will be able to see it larger and brighter than normal. Far from being called strawberry moon because of its pinkish hue, its name refers to the fruit itself. It is a coincidence of this last full moon with the end of the strawberry season in our country (a time that runs from February to June).
Although the Strawberry supermoon will happen at 13:51, it can be seen all over the world. We can begin to contemplate it tonight and during the night of tomorrow.
