Elden Ring is a couple of weeks old and speedrunners are already setting insane records in the any % category, and the one that has distinguished itself the most is hands down distortion 2, who has been beating his own record over the course of the last week. His most recent record was to finish Elden Ring in less than half an hour, as he achieved it in a time of 29 minutes and 27 seconds.
It hasn’t been long since it was released. Elden Ring but since then we average players have been clear that FromSoftware made fun of us when he said that it is possible to finish the story of Elden Ring in 30 hours, because only a true expert in Soulsborne games would be capable of such a feat on his first try. However, for speedrunners this is nothing, as Distortion 2 has beaten his record time and time again to finish Elden Ring in less than 30 minutes.

Last week Distortion 2 became the first speedrunner to finish Elden Ring in under 50 minutes, and at the time he said the game could probably be completed in under 40 minutes. A few days later, the speedrunner made it through and finished Elden Ring in just 36 minutes.
If that time already sounded crazy, this weekend Distortion 2 surprised us again when he revealed that he had broken his record again, as he had managed to finish Elden Ring in just 33 minutes and 50 seconds, which had been his best time until managed to finish the game in less than half an hour.

At the rate it’s going, we’ll probably see a Distortion 2 new record in this week, because with each passing day it seems that the speedrunner finds new ways to optimize their time.
