We had been a long time without news of the good of Percy Jackson. The saga of adaptations to the big screen of Rick Riordan’s work, despite having worked more than decently at the box office —raising a total of 425 million dollars—, was reduced to two feature films that provided a decent, but without boasting, dose of adventures focused on the youth target.

A couple of years ago, fans of literary fantasy celebrated the news that the almighty Disney was working on a series for its streaming platform sponsored by Riordan himself, who promised extra loyalty to his work. Now, in 2022, The new ‘Percy Jackson’ has found its leading actor.
As Deadline reports, Walker Scobellwho has captivated half the world with his performance in Netflix’s hit ‘The Adam Project’, will be in charge of bringing to life the main character of the show, which will premiere under the title of ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ on a date yet to be determined that could last until well into 2023 – since its filming will start this summer.
At the moment there are no details about the synopsis of the series, whose pilot will be written by Rick Riordan and Jon Steinberg, and directed by James Bobin; but it has transpired that will follow the plot line of the five books of the sagabeginning with ‘The Lightning Thief’ in the first season.
