The ESRB age rating system has filtered the existence of Disney Classic Games Collection, a new compilation of classic platform games based on Disney movies Aladdin, The Lion King and The jungle book. Few additional details are known of the collection, although its description indicates that «Players run and jump through levels, using swords, fruits, or slide and jump attacks to hit enemies (eg guards, birds, snakes, monkeys). Combat is highlighted by the sounds of cutting swords and screams of pain, enemies disappearing in puffs of smoke when defeated. Some enemies and bosses fire projectiles (e.g. arrows) at the player’s character«.
Definitely, Everything points to the Disney Classic Games Collection being a re-release of Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King, except that now it will also include The Jungle Book, an original game from 1994 in which players controlled Mowgli in a video game adaptation of the Disney movie. The title had traditional platforms, highlighting above all lianas with which the character could move and avoid traps.
From Disney Classic Games Collection you can expect the same as from Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King but including The Jungle Book. In this way, the title could include Updated visuals and display options with 1080p graphics and enhancements for modern HD televisions, adjustable screen video aspect and borders, and custom filter options designed to replicate classic CRT televisions and other popular display types.
Among the rest of the content, a Spectator mode for Interactive Gameplays stands out in which the player can take control at any time, a save function, Museum mode and a soundtrack. If there is no surprise before, Disney Classic Games Collection will be presented in the coming days, possibly at Gamescom Opening Night Live.
