This fruit grows on the manzanillo tree, which grows in temperate places with little humidity. At the same time, Tejocote trees can measure between 4 and 10 meters in height.
Belonging to the family RosaceaeThe tejocote is a tree full of thorns with short semi-evergreen leaves (approximately 4 cm). Its flowers are hermaphrodite and grow in the form of bouquets with small flowers with white petals. After flowering, a small round fruit similar to an apple grows, measuring 1 to 2 centimeters in diameter, with colors ranging from yellow to red.
