For the launch of the Crysis Remastered Trilogy, Technical Leaders at Digital Foundry, Crytek, and Saber Interactive have analyzed the performance of Crysis 2 Remastered on Xbox Series X and PS5. According to them they have done a much better job on consoles compared to last year’s Crysis Remastered. As announced, Crysis 2 Remastered has received an overall extensive makeover, with improvements to lighting, shadows, and resources, with a ton of physics-based textures.
Some features, such as ray tracing and DLSS, are exclusive to PCs, but most of the new features are available on consoles as well. It should also be mentioned that the game cannot be played natively on Xbox Series X | S or PS5, is only available through backward compatibility. There are some differences between the basic versions of Xbox One / PS4 and PS4 Pro / Xbox One X, which carry over to Xbox Series X | S and PS5, such as tessellation and better particle lighting and global lighting.

Ok now how does it work Crysis 2 Remastered on Xbox Series X and PS5? Well, both the Xbox Series X and the PS5 run in dynamic 4K that can go down to 1080p. For its part, the Xbox Series S runs at 1440p dynamic and can go down to 900p. All next-gen consoles run at a solid 30fps, while the Xbox Series X and the PS5 maintain a constant 60 fps. The Xbox Series S runs at mostly 60fps, with a few small dips in the mid-50s.

Another good news is that these new versions of Crysis 2 have a suitable frame rate, so the stutters that plagued games in their day have finally been fixed. Of course, if you want the best viewing experience, your best bet is to get Crysis Remastered Trilogy on PC, but it seems that, for the first time, Crysis 2 (and presumably Crysis 3) it can be played with solvency on consoles.
