Digital assets, such as cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens, should be recognized as legitimate property, especially as the world’s population goes digital.says the co-founder of The Sandbox.
Speaking to Cointelegraph Editor-in-Chief Kristina Lucrezia Cornèr during Blockchain Week in Rome last week, Sébastien Borget said that so-called “digital natives” – those who grew up with digital devices and subsequently have greater confidence in them – are growing..
“More than half of the world’s population is already digital native,” said Borget. The United Nations reported in December 2021 that nearly two-thirds of the world’s population, nearly 5 billion people, were online.
“We have to build a future for them where if they spend more time and money on digital assets, they should have value and they should be recognized as legitimate property.”
He added that the metaverse may offer a new way for digital natives to connect, and that governments should “value the work [y] recognize the jobs” that are produced in this space and begin to treat “the digital economy as a real economy”.
Borget said that while there are world events that pose challenges to global stability, such as the Russo-Ukrainian war and rising inflation, he believes that the metaverse can be “a driving force for positive impact, social impact, more awareness and inclusivity”.

Borget believes that Lowering the barrier to creating digital content opens up new opportunities for many, and cryptocurrencies can facilitate access to payments in countries where “the banking system may not be as developed”.
Artificial intelligence is one of the “driving forces” that can empower creators and speed up the idea generation processaccording to Borget.
“Now all you have in mind is a text that you can represent and visualize. Before it took days,” he explains..
However, Borget warned that the system is not in a position to produce content without “certain human work”.
Borget said he hopes to create a platform where people can better reflect their inner talents and skills, which can better flourish in “the virtual world,” such as mental health help..
“To be a platform that offers this possibility for people to find their own reason is great,” he added.
“You create a world where you see new experiences, new content, new ideas, and the sum of all of that is always more positive than negative.”
