The digital art platform Agora recently announced the launch of its own NFT (non-fungible token) market, with the aim of “support and give visibility to talent from all over the world”. The marketplace will be open to everyone and will be accessible through the website and the Agora Awards app. This was announced by the digital art platform, through a press release to Cointelegraph.
The Agora NFT Marketplace has been created in collaboration with ConsenSys, an Ethereum software company, and Metamask, a non-custodial crypto wallet.
Since March 8, the platform has opened bidding for Agora app users, investors, and art lovers to purchase 21 of the 29 digital artworks displayed at Expo 2020 Dubai and the Metaverse, # We The Women. The sale will last until March 22.
#We TheWoman, is an exhibition based on a retrospective organized by Agora, Dignified Storytelling and the Women’s Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, which celebrates women’s empowerment and gender equality. The exhibition features images of women created by other women, including artists such as Katarina Premfors from the United Arab Emirates, Reka Nyari from the United States, and Iris Brosch from Germany.
The founder and CEO of Agora, Octavi Royo, explains that its mission is to stimulate talent and that in turn, this can reach anyone anywhere in the world.
