It is the saddest news of this January 28: the Argentine singer long established in Mexico, Diego Verdaguer, dies at the age of 70.
The artist was highly applauded in Latin America for his talent in interpreting romantic music and left an indelible mark for his warm image.
Verdaguer’s family announced his death through the singer’s social networks. With a message on Twitter, it was explained that he died from complications arising from having suffered from covid-19. He had been hospitalized since December.
“With absolute sadness, I regret to inform all his public and friends, that dad left his beautiful body today, to continue his path and creativity in another form of eternal life… my mother, I and the whole family are immersed in this pain, so we appreciate your understanding in these difficult times, “Verdaguer’s daughter, Ana Victoria, said on the networks.

Amanda Miguel, his wife, also posted a message on social networks: “I will always love you,” he wrote.
Amanda Miguel and the author of ‘Ladrona’ and ‘You what would you do’ planned a tour of different places in Latin America for this year: “Amanda Miguel and Diego Verdaguer, a lifetime tour 2022”.
“Very unfortunately it is true, our beloved Diego Verdaguer passed away: rest in peace,” wrote Daniel Bisogno, part of the Ventaneando program team, on social networks.
Also Pati Chapoy, on TV Azteca, who said: “It’s hard to fire a friend RIP dear Diego. Amanda and Ana Victoria, I share your pain.”

The composer Carlos Cuevas published a photograph with the singer: “My heart could not be sadder. Rest in peace my dear Diego Verdaguer. I keep your words and the love you gave me the last time I saw you.
Lucero, the Mexican ballad and mariachi singer, said online: “I feel the departure of the great Diego Verdaguer. My most sincere condolences to his beloved wife Amanda, to Ana Victoria, her daughter, and all of her family and friends. Lots of light, lots of power. Good road Diego, your songs stay with us just like your memory”.

Born in Buenos Aires on April 26, 1951 under the name of Miguel Atilio Boccadoro Hernández, he began his career in song at the age of 17 under the artistic name of Diego Verdaguer.
Throughout half a century, he maintained a romantic pop musical style and performed famous songs such as “Chiquilla” and “Pájaro que ate, voló”.
