According to a recent report from World of Reelscinematographer Matthew Libatique served as the film’s director Do not worry honey the days when Olivia Wilde (the credited director) was allegedly absent from the film set without notice.
Released in September 2022, the Warner Bros. Pictures psychological thriller hit theaters amid controversy, following a variety of rumors that the filming of Do not worry honey suffered the setbacks of a romantic relationship, a negligent director and a clash between Wilde and his star actress, Florence Pugh.
During the filming of Do not worry honey, Olivia Wilde and her other star actor, Harry Styles, began a romance that allegedly led to the director disappearing from the set on more than one occasion, leaving the production adrift. Previously, it was reported that such “negligence” on Wilde’s part led to a shouting match between her and Florence Pugh, as the actor (according to) was fed up with the director’s unprofessionalism. It was even said that Pugh came to occupy the management chair in her place.
On the other hand, World of Reels learned this week — via an anonymous producer — that when Wilde wasn’t around, the one who mostly ran the show Do not worry honeybesides Pugh, was Matthew Libatique, cinematographer of the film. Thanks to storyboardingLibatique was able to stick to the camera shots that the absent director wanted and resolved them in complicity with the assistant directors, according to recent testimony.
“The days when Wilde disappeared, Florence and Matthew were in charge, but I would say it was more Matthew who kept the shoot going.“said that source. “They couldn’t afford to slow down the movie, so [Libatique] she tried to follow Olivia’s vision as much as possible. Once Olivia came back on set, as if nothing had happened, that’s when Pugh lost his temper.”
