Did Dragon Ball Super cheat on us with the new superheroes? Trunks and Goten headed back to the background [FW Opinión]

The new arc of the manga Dragon Ball Super came with a promise: goku and vegeta, for the first time in a long time, they would not be at the forefront of the adventures that the franchise develops. The characters that had been left in the background resumed their path of warriors and returned to defend the Earth from the multiple threats to which it is always subjected.

We had just seen how Gohan unleashed his fury in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and next to Piccolo They achieved a new transformation that made us delirious in the cinema. Now, in the new arc of the manga, they showed us the way in which Goten and Trunks they were headed for his triumphant return.

The presentation of these two characters, in Dragon Ball Z, heralded the birth of memorable warriors. The fact that they became Super Saiyans at 8-9 years old was the most irrefutable proof of that statement.

However, the future separated them as a pair of secondary characters subjected to filler situations. This arc of the Dragon Ball Super manga gave indications that it would be the return of the two Saiyans, but now it seems to lead them once again into the background.

What will happen to Trunks and Goten?

In episode #90 of the manga, just released just over 48 hours ago, the young Saiyans are part of the onslaught in which Dr. Hedo is arrested. They can’t even alone with a scientist familiar to a member of the Red Patrol, since Krillin and Mai were the minds that devised the plan to find the “villain”.

Now, Dr. Hedo was imprisoned and things are going towards the development of what happened in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. As the stories will be told in more detail, we may see Trunks and Goten in bigger roles than the ones in the movie.

However, if the script remains true to what we already know, Gohan Beast and Orange Piccolo will be in charge of defeating the Cell Max that Dr. Hedo will develop in the future when he joins the rebirth of the Red Patrol.

It was known that the franchise for the first time in its history was going to translate a movie into the manga. But many fans expected to see Trunks and Goten facing (and defeating) a more complex threat than just modified Halloween corpses.
