As previously reported by Cointelegraph, the Ethereum Foundation has announced that DevCon VI will take place from October 11 to 14, 2022 in Bogotá, Colombia. A new edition of the conference for developers and users that, this time, will take place in Latin America.
Now, The Ethereum Foundation has announced other news such as an auction and a raffle that will distribute tickets for said event. Both the Auction and the Draw will take place in Arbitruma level 2 update rollup that is installed on the Ethereum mainnet.
The team explains that the ticket auction will be similar to a traditional auction: participants can submit bids and the top 20 bidders will receive a ticket for Devcon VI in exchange for your bid amount. The minimum offer required to participate in the Auction will be 0.25 ETH.
In the case of the giveaway, the DevCon team highlights that all participants who do not make the top 20 offers will have another chance to win 1 of 80 tickets DevCon VI at the reserve price (0.25 ETH) through a raffle.
Each person who wins the Prize Draw will be able to withdraw any additional ETH above the reserve price. If you don’t win the sweepstakes or auction, you can withdraw the full bid amount less a 2% fee. Everyone who participates in the auction and raffle will win a POAP NFT to certify their participation. Winners will have 48 hours to claim their ticket.
What is the DevCon organized by the Ethereum Foundation?
It’s a annual event where users and developers of the Ethereum network meet. This event is organized and managed entirely by the Ethereum Foundation. The first DevCon, called DevCon 0 Berlin, was held in Bavaria a year before the Ethereum blockchain was launched.
During the event there are different conferences where the state of the ecosystem, the most interesting developments, etc. are discussed. In addition, it is an ideal space for collaboration and knowledge exchange. This event is used to teach, communicate and generate new ideas.
