The initiative, Drone to Yacht, comes from the Galician company Aerocamaras, specialized in drones, together with GEIC, a port infrastructure management and advisory company.
Delivery for yachts
The operation is simple: the user selects from his yacht what he wants to eat, places the order through the app or the website of this service to a specific restaurant, and from there he only has to wait for his food to arrive, literally flying, as the restaurant, upon receipt of the order, prepares the selected dishes, packages them and delivers them to the drone operator. At this time, the location of the boat is located, the order is placed on the aircraft so that it takes off in the vicinity of the restaurant and makes the delivery on the yacht itself.
The operation is carried out with an electric drone that the Galician company has developed to make short-distance shipments, which offers a fast and silent service with a maximum speed of 32 knots, together with a loading and unloading system with a 20-meter reel. .
The initiative, with a Spanish firm, will begin operating on August 1 in some of the areas with a large volume of pleasure boats with potential clients and Ibiza has been the island selected to lead the project, for which an agreement has been reached with multiple restaurants and marinas in the area, and work continues to expand the list of franchisees. The company’s objective is to expand into the rest of the enclaves of the Spanish coasts in the coming months and plans to disembark in various Italian ports. In addition, they will also enjoy food airborne by Spanish drones in the Caribbean, where the business alliance will begin to operate throughout this year, after the hurricane season that usually hit Caribbean waters until October.
